MUSIC AND FOOD
Hi guys, I keep telling you about my vision of music.
I created this artistic factory SNAKE MACHINE.
To present music in a sensorial, divergent way.
Why food?
I started from the point that both music and food are two all-embracing art forms and experiences.
I related music to the nourishment of the soul.
Music gives happiness, with its vibrations it has anti-stress functions, it balances emotions and reduces anxiety.
Food also gives happiness.
Food is as ephemeral as the true nature of music, and when we eat with some background music, taste buds are conditioned by the music, and vice versa, hearing is conditioned by taste. The two senses in play are communicating.
So the two senses communicate to each other; studies by the Crossmodal Laboratory at Oxford University have shown that certain musical frequencies affect flavour perceptions. The result was that low frequencies increase the perception of bitter flavours, while high frequencies amplify sweet flavours. Thus, even if only slightly, the taste of the same food changes.
Did you know that artistic experiments in combining music and food were already done in the past?
For example during Futurism with the "Manifesto of Futurist Cooking".
That's very interesting.
To the next one!
